Kambo with Andi
My Story
My journey with Kambo begins in 2020 with my journey into plant medicine ceremony, both as a participant and in service. In some pretty profound ceremonies, it became clear to Andi that a calling to carry this medicine was present within her and a deeper connection with Kambo was needed. Seeking training with Claudia Costa of Rana Que Sana, Andi received a beautiful initiation into this sacred medicine practice. Upon completion of the training, she began a 30 day solo dieta with Kambo prior to serving any others. After completing her initiation and dieta, Andi began serving others.
Andi works with individuals and small groups at a 10-acre conscious community space called The Hive: Farm & Community in NH or travels throughout New England.

Kambo also often provides clarity or insight to some of the following:
Letting go of attachments that no longer serve your highest and greatest good
Getting ‘unstuck’
Recognizing and releasing self-destructive behavior patterns
Shifting your view on life
Among many other emotional/psychospiritual examples
How to prepare:
Properly preparing for your Kambo , can lead to a more intentional connection to this medicine. These steps and protocols are highly effective and will be inquired about when you arrive to participate in your ceremony. It is the practitioner’s discretion to determine if you are in proper alignment to begin this ceremony.
Discussion of your health background, allergies and/or current health conditions WILL HAVE BEEN COMPLETED prior to your session. If you are feeling unwell, with a compromised immune system, the ceremony will be rescheduled until you are feeling better. Please communicate as soon as you are aware of illness. Nervousness and intense feelings can come up as the ceremony approaches and it is encouraged to have an open dialogue with me leading up to our time together.
3 DAYS BEFORE - Avoiding dairy, and red meat is beneficial 3 days prior to your session. This helps your body establish a more alkaline state, versus acidic, which could lead to an acidic purge.
3 DAYS BEFORE AND ESPECIALLY DAY OF - Avoiding cannabis is recommended.
NIGHT BEFORE SCHEDULED CEREMONY - NO FOOD SHOULD BE EATEN after 10PM. This allows all food consumed to be properly digested. If you are sitting later in the afternoon or evening, fasting until your ceremony time is required. Consumption of food within this window may affect your ability to sit.
DAY OF CEREMONY - ONLY SIPS OF WATER leading up to your session. Maintain a log of water consumption if you are fasting all day. This question will be asked upon your arrival. Herbal tea is ok, with discussion about ingredients, some are contraindicated to Kambo (but not many). Please ask.
DAY OF CEREMONY - Avoid caffeine.
DAY OF CEREMONY - Do NOT take any medications/supplements prior to ceremony, these can be taken after the ceremony is completed.
DAY OF CEREMONY - Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a change of clothes (optional) and anything you may need to be comfortable for your sit and to rest afterwards.
Altar objects are welcome. Also, if you wish, bring a journal/pen for integration.
What happens at ceremony?
Beginning ceremony will include the opening of sacred space and smudging. Offering of other medicines including Sananga and Hapeh will be included but not required.
First, you will be invited to experience Sananga, which is an eye drop, and is made from the roots and bark of Tabernaemontana undulata, a shrub which is found in Brazil and other South American countries. This medicine is used to improve eyesight, decalcify the pineal gland, and clear ‘panema’ or bad energy. Sananga is anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-fungal, antibacterial and offers a sense of clearing and grounding and quieting of the mind.
Next, you will be invited to receive an offering of Hapé – pronounced ha-PAY and also known as rapé, rapeh, or hapeh. Hapé is a preparation of powdered medicinal herbs, often with a tobacco base, that is taken through the nose. Andi will utilize a tool called a tepi (pipe) to administer. The benefits of this medicine include a sense of clarity, grounding and other benefits based on the additional herbs that are added to the mixture. Andi will be able to explain the effects of each blend she works with.
Upon completion of the above medicine applications you will then be prompted to drink your water to prepare to receive Kambo. During this time, Andi will be preparing the medicine, working on your skin (gates) and allowing you time to connect to the element of water, and to set your intention (if not already done). Once you have consumed your water, Andi will begin by applying 1 Kambo medicine dot to your first gate. This typically leads to an increase in heart rate, temperature, and potential swelling of the face (frog face). Additional medicine is applied to the remaining gates based on your tolerance and/or purge activities. Each medicine dot will increase the experience, leading to, but not always resulting in a purge into the bucket provided. Sometimes, it is necessary to be assisted to the bathroom for additional purges. This process is a wave like effect, where the energy of the medicine will rise and peak, and then decrease in intensity until you are back to baseline and you will be invited to rest.
What happens after ceremony?
After ceremony, rest is suggested and proper nourishment is recommended. You will be gently held post ceremony for however long it takes to regain your strength and feel well enough to resume your day. Andi often offers fruit and tea, or when traveling, her host often cooks a delicious lunch. Heavy, dense, spicy foods for your first post Kambo meal should be avoided.
Andi is available after your ceremony for integration and processing.
